Lee’s Summit recorded a per capita income of $48,894, above each of the benchmarks shown in Census Bureau data. Cass County, which shares a portion of the city’s southern reach, came in at $42,789. Jackson County, registered $39,559. The Missouri statewide figure was $39,695, close to Jackson County and below both the city and Cass County.

The range across the four figures runs from $39,559 at the low end — Jackson County — to $48,894 at the top. Cass County sits in the middle of that range, closer to the two lower figures than to Lee’s Summit’s.

For residents, per capita income is a city-level average distributed across all individuals, including children and retirees, so it reflects the full household mix rather than a typical worker’s paycheck. Lee’s Summit’s figure landing noticeably above Missouri’s statewide number and above both surrounding counties suggests the city’s resident population, taken as a whole, earns at a higher level than either county or state averages reflect.
